Wuxi Ag. Delegation Visits SUNY Cobleskill
SUNY Cobleskill hosted nearly 30 delegates from the Chinese city of Wuxi Tuesday, Nov. 3. During their visit, delegates met with faculty members in the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, toured the greenhouses, fish hatchery and agricultural engineering laboratories.
Wuxi, 80 miles west of Shanghai, was a major agricultural center playing a significant role in the national rice market, but in recent years the manufacturing and textile industries have become more prominent. The delegation visited to learn about federal and state government support for the agricultural industry and to learn about new opportunities for Wuxi’s agricultural development. They were also interested in learning how technology shapes agriculture, issues in the industry and new trends.
